Great Reads__

In my research on Texas geology, I've acquired quite a few information-packed books. I'd like to share some of my favorites with you here.

This book is indispensible when I'm on a photo shoot. Whether you're a geology buff like me or a rock-hound looking for treasure, "Roadside Geology of Texas" is a fantastic guidebook! Another engaging history of the natural forces that have shaped Texas.
A great field guide for methodically identifying your treasures! Hiking and Backpacking? Yes. The field geologist often must do a bit of hiking to access all parts of this great classroom we call earth. Hundreds of miles of public trails take you to many a geologist's paradise!

Beyond Texas. (general geology)

Filled with dazzling illustrations, this book gives you an introduction to practical geology and field work technique. Lots of fun! The earth's story from the beginning till now. Here's an overview of the dynamic forces that keep the seemingly permanant terra-firma in a constant state of change.
A beautifully illustrated rock and mineral field guide. It's 850 pages are formatted in a compact design that's easy to take into the field. Check out more fun geology stuff at:
